More presents!

My first wedding present for future hubby arrived yesterday from Hong Kong!  Pretty excited as it wasn't supposed to come for another month, although now I kind of want to make it a Christmas present.  I like shopping early because you have more time to find something perfect, but then as soon as I find something I always want to give it to the person right away.  But I'll be good and tuck it away with the bridesmaids' presents that I really want to give too.

Wedding Shoes - Round 2

As much as I liked the idea of blue wedding shoes, the 3 pairs of blue shoes I ordered last summer have all been returned.  My dress just didn't look right with sapphire blue, and I don't want another shade of blue.  So next stop on the shoe journey...glitzy flats.  Not completely sure how I feel about wearing flats yet, but Zappos makes it so easy with their 2 way free shipping and a whole year for returns!  Another pair is on its way :)

Big Planning Day!

After a lovely escape from the New England chill, I'm back from Florida and ready to tackle more wedding planning!  Both my mom and I took the day off from work for an action packed day of veil shopping, meeting with the florist, and finally meeting up with the groom and his mom for the Wentworth Grand Tasting!  We could have opted for a private tasting our of wedding food, but I think going to the Grand Tasting will be more fun, as we will get to meet some of the other couples getting married at the Wentworth next summer.  Also our cake maker will be in attendance, as well as our florist.  I can't wait to taste all the yummy food and see the ballrooms all decorated for a mock wedding!

Bridesmaids Gifts

Bridesmaids' gifts have been ordered!  I've been thinking about this one for awhile now and I can't wait to see them when they arrive!  I like them so much I had to get one for me too.  Only 7 1/2 more months until I can give them to my girls!

I miss wedding planning!

So I've really been neglecting my blog over the last couple of months because I haven't been wedding planning!! Work was crazy up until the 9/15 tax deadline, we managed to squeeze in enough time to get a puppy, and now work is super busy again for the 10/15 deadline.  I'm hoping once this deadline passes I can resume planning and really get into things again.

Since the last post I did schedule our engagement photo session (2 weeks from yesterday!!) and Arthur and I attended our precana/pre-marital counseling weekend.  We didn't learn anything overly surprising about each other, but they did bring up a few items we hadn't thought about before.  We also have our menu tasting scheduled at the Wentworth in November.  Next on my radar is finalizing save the dates!

The Stage Neck Inn

Wedding planning has been on hold due to summer tax season but now that the deadline has passed I can continue planning & blogging.  Since my last post a few wedding plans were made, notable securing the rehearsal dinner location.  During our scouting trip to Portsmouth & Southern Maine with the Andersens one of the places we visited was the Stage Neck Inn in York Harbor.  We all loved it.  The Inn is right on the water and the room where our dinner will be held has huge panoramic views of the beautiful Maine coastline.  I think it's great that part of our wedding festivities will take place in Maine too, as I have spent the majority of my life in the land of lobsters.  Speaking of which, we have decided to serve a New England Clambake for the rehearsal dinner.  Steamers, chowdah, corn, & lobster - a real Maine feast.  During the beginning stages of planning when we were entertaining the idea of having our wedding on Martha's Vineyards we had wanted to have a clam bake for the reception.  Somehow I had forgotten all about this, but when we saw it listed as one of the options, Mrs. Andersen suggested it for the rehearsal.  I think it will be perfect for our New England seaside wedding.  Can't wait for next summer!
