Happy 7 Months, Vivie!

March was another exciting month for the Andersen family.  On March 1st Vivie started taking swimming lessons with Brookline Parks & Rec.  Vivie loves the water, especially floating on her belly and occasionally kicking her legs.  She really enjoys when Mom blows bubbles in the water.  They won't let us take pictures in the the pool until her last class, so we took a few pictures of her in her swim suit before her first class.

On March 11 Vivie also started her first music class at Isis.  It's a wonderful class and Vivie has been able to try quite a few instruments including a hand drum, egg shakers, tamborines, & maracas.  Her teacher always blows bubbles at the end of class which Vivie adores.

March also brought Vivie's first 2 teeth.  I started noticing that her gums were swollen on Mon 3/11 and by Sunday 3/17 they had broken through.  We had 2 bad nights of sleep and it took Vivie about a week to get 100% back on track with her sleep, but overall the process wasn't too bad.  Now if only she would let me take a picture!

We had another gathering with the babies from our prenatal Centering class this month too.  We hadn't seen the babies since January and it was crazy to see how much they had all grown.  Our midwife, Ashley, was able to join us as well.

Vivie added many new foods this month including carrots (new favorite), blueberries, cantaloupe  pineapple, rice, pears, prunes, apricots  spinach, potatoes, raspberries, and MumMum rice rusks.  She still eats her solids twice a day (breakfast & dinner), and hasn't rejected any foods we have offered her.  She seems to really enjoy the orange veggies (carrots, squash, & sweet potato) and loves her oatmeal.

Vivie worked on her mobility a lot during March.  She is quite good at scooting backwards, and does the cutest/funniest poses that look like a cross between a pushup or downward dog.  We also lowered her crib this month, as she is more mobile after naps too.

She loves getting stuck underneath furniture too.

On St. Patrick's Day Vivie dressed up and we went out to dinner.  She sat in her first restaurant high chair and seemed to really enjoy having her own seat!

At the end of the month we celebrated Easter and Vivie's 7 month birthday.  On Saturday we visited the McGowan grandparents and Vivie wore one of Mommy's vintage 1986 dresses.  On Sunday Vivie made lots of happy squeals during Mass, and then we went to Rhode Island for an Easter egg hunt (which Vivie loved!) and had lunch with the Andersen side of the family.

Current size: no official measurements this month, but Vivie is wearing a mixture of 9 month & 12 month clothes.

Loves: grocery shopping, scooting backwards on the hardwood floor, bath time, trying to stand up in the tub during bath time, closing the drain to extend bath time, peek-a-boo, Mercedes!, "reading"/destroying/eating magazine & mail (Mercedes likes to help), going upside-down, playing with her spoon & wash cloth while eating, & trying to get anything Mommy & Daddy are drinking (we  broke a glass this month - scary!)

Dislikes: getting dressed, diaper changes, getting in her car seat
